State Employee Discount Day at the Cotton Mill Exchange
Columbia, S.C. --- The South Carolina State Museum’s shop, the Cotton Mill Exchange, will offer a 10 percent discount for all state employees on Wednesday, May 5 in appreciation of the men and women who work daily for the benefit of South Carolina and its citizens.
To observe State Employee Recognition Day as proclaimed by Gov. Mark Sanford, state employees will benefit from a 10 percent discount on all merchandise in the store with presentation of their state employee identification. An additional 10 percent discount will be offered to employees who are also State Museum members, with their member cards.
“This discount comes just in time for graduation, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day,” said Store Manager Scottie Ash. “The Cotton Mill Exchange is packed with unique and unusual gift ideas.” Southern-oriented, South Carolina-oriented, or completely unique to the museum, the museum store features an impressive variety of merchandise including jewelry, clothing, home decorations, greeting cards, toys and books.
“Also not to be forgotten is our wide array of South Carolina food products,” said Ash. “From peach butter to pecans, cheese straws, grits and barbecue sauce, many delicious gift ideas found only at the Cotton Mill Exchange will delight all the family and friends.”
State Employees who want to stretch their dollars in a tight economy are encouraged to visit the Cotton Mill Exchange, located in the lobby of the museum, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on May 5 to save on apparel, decorative items for the home, gourmet food, children’s toys and beautiful linens.
Shoppers can get an advance glance of many of the store’s items at www.cottonmillexchange.com and make a list before visiting the store.
