Blackbeard's Lost Ship
Soon after his blockade of Charleston harbor in 1718, Blackbeard ran his ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, aground off the North Carolina coast and abandoned her to the sea. Nearly 300 years later a group of marine archaeologists discovered the ship's remains. Their careful preservation and analysis may answer the biggest mystery of Blackbeard’s reign: Did he run his ship aground by accident, or was it a plot to double-cross his men and steal all their treasure for himself? 2 p.m. in the auditorium.  Movie is free with museum general admission or membership.

Read and Romp October 10

Reach Out and Read-South Carolina is excited to announce the 6th annual Read and Romp Family Benefit Event.  It will be a day of fun best suited for children ages 2-8.  At Read and Romp, children will be engaged in fun, learning-based activities themed around favorite children’s books. In addition to interactive story book stations, there will be face painting, a caricature artist, arts and crafts, a visit from Cocky and much, much more!
